This is a reminder to all interested folks that the Global Network is
encouraging local demonstrations against Star Wars at the end of June and
early July.

Here in Florida, we will demonstrate on June 24 from Noon till 2 p.m. at
Cape Canaveral Air Force Station.

As you know, there will soon be a third test of the National Missile
Defense System. A missile will be shot from Vandenberg Air Force Station
in California, while the hit-to-kill mechanism will be launched from
Kwajalein Atoll in an effort to destroy the missile mid-air. The date for
this test was scheduled for June 26, but will now be delayed into the first
week in July.

Clinton will decide this fall whether to deply a National Missile Defense
system, whose ground bases would be located in Alaska and North Dakota. He
claims that these tests will impact his decision.

As increased awareness of these testing efforts grow, the voice of protest
must grow louder and stronger. Groups will be protesting this Star Wars
test in various key locations, including Vandenberg Air Force Base in
California; Ft. Meade in Maryland, headquarters of the National Security
Agency (NSA); Peterson Air Force Base at Colorado Springs, home of the U.S.
Space Command, and in England, protests will occur at Menwith Hill and
Fylingdales where NSA spy bases are being upgrated to accommodate Star Wars.

Please make the effort to come out and join us on June 24 at the Cape
Canaveral main gate for this important demonstration. We must make it
clear to all involved that we are still here, and we're still watching, and
we're still willing to make the great effort to say NO to Star Wars.

Please note: Immediately following the demonstration, there will be a
meeting at a local restaurant to organize a demonstration on October 7,
again in concert with demonstrations in other parts of the country and the
world, to keep the pressure on, to keep the message out there, to show our
numbers are growing and our voices cannot be ignored. Please join us for
this meeting. The details about where we will meet will be provided at the
demonstration.
