Date: October 6, 2000 Statement No 126

WE WILL CONTINUE TO DEMAND A RECKONING
FOR THE ULUCANLAR MASSACRE

1 - We have commemorated our Ulucanlar martyrs with another martyrdom!
On September 26, 1999, ten revolutionary prisoners were murdered in Ankara
Ulucanlar Prison. An interval of one year has passed. Not one torturer, not
one murderer has been imprisoned. Nobody in authority, nobody responsible
has been brought to trial.
But the murderers wanted, by opening criminal proceedings, to punish the
wounded prisoners who survived the massacre, inflicting on them prison
sentences totalling thousands of years. In the city squares, those people
who seek justice are beaten with clubs. Those who sought to commemorate the
people we lost at Ulucanlar were detained.
They massacre and they tell us there is no justice. They cannot condemn the
people to injustice.
In the prisons of this country, those involved in Susurluk and mafia chiefs
have an easy time of it. If your name is Cakici or Murat Demirel, your every
whim is catered to. But the revolutionaries are slaughtered, tortured,
thrown in cells.
We are the ones who are slaughtered or tortured. We are told fairy tales
about democratisation and advised to "forget about it". They want us to
forget the freshly-turned graves and the unhealed marks of torture on our
bodies.
We will not forget! We will demand a reckoning! A place will be found for
justice!
In an action we planned as a reckoning for the Ulucanlar massacre, at about
2150 on October 5, as a result of a bomb exploding before it could be taken
to its target, one of our fighters, Armed Propaganda Unit member Husamettin
CINER, was martyred.
We are continuing to pay a price for justice. We will also continue to make
others pay a price!

2 - Ulucanlar is no longer devoid of justice!
To demand a reckoning for Ulucanlar:
At 1900 on October 5, in Istanbul's Halicioglu District, WE USED A BOMB TO
CAUSE MAJOR DESTRUCTION IN THE BEYOGLU JUSTICE BUILDING.
THOSE WHO CARRIED OUT THE ULUCANLAR MASSACRE
AND THOSE WHO GAVE THE ORDER MUST BE BROUGHT TO TRIAL!
The fact that the bomb attack did not result in loss of life was not "due to
luck" but was planned by us.
The TV news about our action said that "due to luck, no lives were lost".
The lack of fatalities was not "due to luck" but was planned by our Front.
In our action, a time bomb was used, and so as to avoid harm to the people
and loss of life, the explosion was designed to take place outside working
hours. However, against different targets the timing may also be different.
For this reason, once again we remind our people in particular to keep well
away from counter-revolutionary persons and institutions.
HUSAMETTIN CINER IS IMMORTAL
IN A LAND WITHOUT JUSTICE, VIOLENCE IS LEGITIMATE
