Kim Jong Il receives gift from Chinese organization
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il received
a gift from the China
Federation of Literary and Art Circles.
The gift was conveyed to an official concerned by vice-president of the
federation Yang Weiguang who
is on a visit to the DPRK.
Kim Jong Il receives gift from Chinese delegation
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il received
a gift from the visiting
delegation of the China Association for International Friendly Contact.
The gift was handed to an official concerned by head of the delegation
Ri Changshun who is
vice-president of the association.
Yang Hyong Sop meets Chinese delegation
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the
presidium of the DPRK
Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a friendly talk with the delegation
of the China Association for
International Friendly Contact headed by its vice-president Li Changshun at
the Mansudae Assembly Hall
yesterday.
Present there were vice-chairwoman Hong Son Ok of the Korean Committee
for Cultural Relations with
Foreign Countries, who is vice-chairwoman of the central committee of the
DPRK-China Friendship
Association, and Chinese ambassador to the DPRK Wang Guozhang.
Li Changshun said that while staying in Korea he could see for himself
the achievements made by the
Korean people under the wise leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.
The China-DPRK friendship is indestructible as it was provided by the
revolutionaries of the old
generation of China and the President Kim Il Sung, he said.
The China Association for International Friendly contact will as ever
vigorously push ahead with the
work of further developing the China-DPRK friendship, Li added.
Yang Hyong Sop meets Chinese literary and art delegation
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the
presidium of the DPRK
Supreme People's Assembly, met and had a talk with the delegation of the
China Federation of Literary and
Art Circles headed by its vice-president Yang Weiguang at the Mansudae
Assembly Hall today.
Present there were Kim Jong Ho, vice-chairman of the central committee
of the General Federation of the
Unions of Literature and the Arts of Korea, and Chinese ambassador to the
DPRK Wang Guozhang.
WPK anniversary celebrated abroad
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- The 55th anniversary of the Worker's
Party of Korea was celebrated
in five continents of the world.
General Secretary Kim Jong Il received gifts, messages of greetings,
floral baskets, honorary citizenship
diplomas and medals from at least 800 state and party leaders and prominent
figures of over 110 countries.
Colorful functions to celebrate the anniversary were held in many
countries, nations, regions and
organizations.
Preparatory committees were formed in more than 50 countries including
Mongolia and Jordan after the
formation of the first preparatory committee in Prague and various
celebrations were held in different
countries and regions and by political parties and organizations from the
end of August.
Political parties, organizations and publishing houses of over 20
countries published over 20,000 copies
of Kim Jong Il's works in 16 languages.
Over 70 joint seminars and symposiums were held in more than 40 countries.
Celebration meetings and receptions were held.
Especially, Jiang Zemin, genera secretary of the central committee of
the Communist Party of China,
attended a banquet given at the DPRK embassy in Beijing together with
party, government and army senior
officials.
Film shows were held in at least 60 countries and Korean book and photo
exhibitions and handiwork
exhibitions in over 40 countries.
Sports games and art performances took place and Korean books were
published in 50 odd countries.
Radios and television in tens of countries broadcast revolutionary
songs and Korean songs and special
programs introducing the brief biography of Kim Jong Il and his immortal
exploits.
Resolution on Korea adopted
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- A resolution on Korea was adopted at
the 15th meeting of the
International Democratic Lawyers Association held in Cuba on Oct. 20.
The resolution said:
The meeting warmly welcomed the north-south summit talks held in
Pyongyang, the adoption of the
north-south joint declaration, the repatriation of 63 unconverted long-term
prisoners and the reunion of
separated families and relatives that came as a result considering them as
historic events that greatly
contributed to achieving peace and reconciliation on the Korean peninsula
and the independent and peaceful
reunification of Korea.
The meeting urged the U.S. directly responsible for the division of the
Korean peninsula to immediately
withdraw its forces and military equipment from South Korea and replace the
Korean Armistice Agreement
by a peace agreement as demanded by the resolution of the 30th UN General
Assembly and lift economic
sanctions and all military and political pressures upon the DPRK and thus
contribute to the process for
Korea's reunification.
Power station projects stepped up
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Construction of power stations was
completed in the DPRK on the
occasion of the 55th anniversary of the Worker's Party of Korea (October 10).
Among them are the second stage project of the Anbyon Youth Power
Station, Songwon and Thaechon
dam expansion projects, Thaechon Power Station no. 5 and other big projects.
The completion of the projects provided solid foundations to solve the
issue of power shortage in the
country.
Minor power stations are under construction in different parts of the
country.
This year the Hungju Power station in Kanggye and the Hachang Youth
Power Station in Usi county,
Jagang Province, the Kimchol Power Station, a power station of the Hwanghae
Iron and Steel Works, a
thermo power station of the Ponghwa Chemical Factory and other power
stations were completed to produce
electricity needed for production and people's living.
Besides, many large and minor power stations including Orang Yuuth
Power Station no. 1, Namdaechon
Power Station nos. 1, 2 and 3, Songchongang Power Station nos. 1, 4, 17, 18
and 19 have been completed.
WPK praised as great party
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- Brief as our visit to the DPRK was we
have witnessed a great party
and a great people through astonishing realities in Korea, said Dogu
Ferincek, chairman of the central
committee of the Worker's Party of Turkey, when interviewed by a KCNA
reporter before his departure from

The Korean people have firmly defended socialism despite the
imperialists' moves to isolate and stifle it.
This is a shining fruition of the army-first policy pursued by the
Worker's Party of Korea.

Korean photo exhibition and film shows opened
Pyongyang, October 30 (KCNA) -- A Korean photo exhibition and a film
show opened in China on
October 23.
Photos showing revolutionary activities of the President Kim Il Sung
and General Secretary Kim Jong Il
were exhibited there.
A Korean film "the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong Il Pays an Unofficial
Visit to the People's Republic
of China" was screened at the film show.
At the function the chief of staff of the Shenyang military command
area said that he came to know well
about the personality of Kim Jong Il as a great man, adding the friendship
between China the DPRK and
would grow stronger and develop generation after generation under the care
of the supreme leaders of the two
countries.
Meanwhile, a show of the Korean film "the Great Leader Comrade Kim Jong
Il Meets with President of
the Russian Federation Putin" was held by a joint venture company of
Uzbekistan on Oct. 17.

violacion al articulo 16 del acuerdo de

belicos contra la rpdc y vuelva a desatar

el derecho de autodefensa contra

reconozca y pida disculpa por la presente intrusion en el espacio aereo,

corea sigue construyendo las
bases de produccion electrica.
en ocasion del 55 aniversario de la fundacion del partido del trabajo
de corea (10 de octubre) se han
culminado la obra de segunda etapa de la central hidroelectrica "juventud"
de anbyon, la obra de ampliacion
de los diques de songwon y thaechon, la central hidroelectrica de thaechon
no. 5 y otros objetos de gran
envergadura.
de esta manera se ha creado la firme base capaz de resolver la tirantez
de la energia electrica del pais.
por doquier del pais se construyen con vigor las centrales electricas
de medianos y pequenos tamanos.
este ano termino la construccion de la central electrica de hungju de
la ciudad de kanggye, la "juventud"
de hachang del distrito de usi en la provincia de jagang, la de fundicion
de hierro kim chaek, la de fundicion
de hierro de hwanghae y la central termoelectrica de la fabrica quimica de
ponghwa y otros. esa construccion
permite que muchas unidades satisfacen por cuentra propia la energia
electrica necesaria para la produccion y
gestion y vida popular.
ademas se han culminado la central hidroelectrica "juventud" no.1 de
orang, las no.1,2,3 de
namdaechon, las no. 1,4, 17, 18, 19 de songchongang y las otras de
distintos tamanos.
aijd aprueba resolucion sobre corea
pyongyang, 30 de octubre (atcc) -- en la 15 conferencia de la asociacion
internacional de juristas
democratas (aijd) efectuada el dia 20 en cuba fue aprobada una resolucion
respecto a corea que senala:
la conferencia aplaude calurosamente las conversaciones a nivel supremo
norte-sur de corea sostenidas en
pyongyang, la aprobacion de la declaracion conjunta de sus ambas partes y
la realizacion como resultado de
ello de la devolucion del sur al norte de 63 ex presos de larga condena no
abjurados y el encuentro de los
familiares y parientes separados considerandolos como historicos eventos
que contribuyeron grandemente al
logro de la paz, la reconciliacion y la reunificacion independiente y
pacifica de la peninsula coreana.
la conferencia demanda que ee.uu., culpable directo de la division de
la peninsula coreana retire cuanto
antes de sudcorea sus tropas y equipos militares segun la resolucion de la
30 asamblea general de la onu,
sustituya el acuerdo de armisticio de corea por un convenio de la paz y
ponga fin a su sancion economica y
toda presion militar y politica contra la rpdc y asi contribuya al proceso
de la reunificacion de corea.
