Workers' Party President Seán Garland said that the untimely death of Mr. Allan had come as a shock to the party which had been in contact with him within the last week or so in relation to the current unrest in Palestine. "Youssef Allan was a tireless worker on behalf of the Palestinian people and represented their interests in Ireland for many years. He will be sadly missed by all those in Ireland who have long cherished the hope of seeing the establishment of a Palestinian state and a firm peace in the Middle East." "Mr. Allan attended the Workers' Party Ard Fheis (Annual Conference) last November as a guest and we discussed with him the current situation and the ongoing slaughter of Palestinians by Israeli security forces. We were also in touch with him recently in an attempt to highlight the cause of the Palestinian people and his death comes as a great shock to us.
