percent hike of tuition fee and entrance fee and freeze the registration

that the ministry raised the registration fee over two times higher than the
price hike rate in 1995 and 1996 and much higher than the one in 1997, the
councils rejected its measure.

World people urged to unite
Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- The victorious advance of the cause of
socialism and independence will be ensured only by the united struggle of
the popular masses aspiring after it, says Rodong Sinmun today in a signed
article. The article goes on: The unity serves as a basic principle and
lifeline of socialist politics.
Socialism is the gains of the revolution made by the working masses
through their fierce struggle against the ruling classes' exploitation and
oppression and exploiting system.
Socialism makes a victorious advance thanks to the united strength of
the people. Socialism will be deprived of its vitality, if its unity is
neglected and weakened even a bit.
Unity serves as a weapon and banner of struggle that all people
advocating independence should tightly hold.
"Let world people advocating independence unite " this is the
internationalist slogan the progressive people of the world should hold
aloft in the 21st century, too.
Only when all the countries and nations advocating independence unite
close and put up a joint struggle under this internationalist slogan, is it
possible to destroy the unequal and contradictory international order
established by the imperialists and build and develop instead new
international relations based on independence and equality.
The dominationist moves of the imperialists will misfire and the cause
of global independence advance victoriously when the world people come out
as a united force and wage a stubborn struggle under the uplifted banner of
independence against imperialism.

Rodong Sinmun on great leadership for national reunification
Pyongyang, January 20 (KCNA) -- Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article
says that credit for today's new heyday of national reunification goes to
the outstanding guidance of leader Kim Jong Il. Recalling that the Korean
nation has made signal successes in the work for reunification, braving
manifold ordeals and hardships, thanks to the outstanding and energetic
leadership of President Kim Il Sung, the article goes on:
Kim Jong Il is successfully carrying forward the cause of national
reunification started and led by Kim Il Sung.
Kim Jong Il has devoted his all to realizing national reunification,
regarding it as his lifelong task. It is the fruition of his patriotic will
that the north-south summit was arranged and the north-south joint
declaration, a landmark of national reunification, was adopted last year.
He is indicating the road of the movement for national reunification
with his scientific ideological and theoretical activities reflecting the
desire of the people and the reality.
The victory in the Korean people's movement for national reunification
means the victory of his idea and line of national reunification.
He has led the movement for national reunification along the road of
victory with his outstanding leadership.
His wise leadership over national reunification finds its expression in
achieving victories by strengthening the driving force of national
reunification and rejecting the foreign forces with matchless independent
forces of the nation.
As long as Kim Jong Il leads the movement for national reunification it
is sure to win.
He is leading the Korean nation to the struggle for national
