Congratulatory message to Bayan
and the entire national democratic movement
for the succesful ouster of Estrada

We congratulate the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, the Kilusang Mayo Uno, the Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas, Gabriela, the Health Alliance for Democracy and all other national democratic mass organisations and support institutions for their invaluable contribution in leading the people to victory in the Oust Erap campaign.

Once again, the Filipino people have demonstrated what great revolutionary potential the masses possess, thus validating their unique quality as the only true makers of history. You have also shown how to pursue every concrete issue, demand and struggle with determination until victory, without ever giving up. Finally, you have taught us a precious lesson in the correct combination of principled politics and flexible tactics. This allows to obtain concrete benefits and victories for the people, without ever losing sight of the strategic task of defeating imperialism, feudalism and bureaucrat capitalism.

We vow to try our best and apply this convincing approach and winning mood also in our solidarity and organizing work in Belgium. Here, we can learn from the determination of the 13 Clabecq trade unionists who are being persecuted because they radically fought for jobs, and from the five recently installed people’s representatives in three municipal councils, elected on the slate of the Workers’ Party of Belgium.

In the international field, your victory reminds us of the victory of the Cuban people to gain back Elin to his homeland, and to continue the fight against the blockade and for the defense of socialism. There is also the resistance of the people of Irak. At the very moment you had ousted Erap, in Brussels 700 people were attending a Forum-Festival we organized to protest ten years of war and sanctions against Irak. Finally, in the week the Congolese president Kabila was assassinated, your victory may serve as an inspiration to the Congolese people, so that they may pursue Kabila’s struggle against imperialist interests and foreign intervention and agression, and for genuine independence, full sovereignty and a national and pro-people development.

Long live the Filipino people!

Long live the national-democratic movement!

Long live international solidarity!
