From: Mark Clement <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Please Forward To: Activists on IRAQ and especially on Depleted Uranium From: Wafaa' Salman Date: Saturday January 27, 2001 Today, the Boston Globe published an article by "Maggie Fox" from Reuters on page A4 entitled, "Study Finds no ills from depleted uranium" The study of 50 Gulf War veterans has been conducted by Dr. Melissa McDiarmid, an toxicologist at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. There is a need to write a letter to the editor of the Boston Globe to elaborate on this study's findings and even better to send an article on the issue for the purpose of publishing it in response to this article. According to a documentary film, "Hidden Wars of Desert Storm" directed by Gerard Ungerman and Audrey Brohy, nearly 10,000 Gulf War veterans have died since they returned back to the USA and that more than 183,000 filed for disability. What is the source of these statistics? Why not such information gets published in the Globe or other newspapers? If you know of the direct contact information of the above mentioned directors and of John Pilger, would you please forward it to me? I will greatly appreciate it. Thank you. W.
