A "guilty" verdict is necessary to activate the mass of claims filed in our courts by relatives of the deceased. It has long been established in the US that "Western Lives" are worth a lot of money. How much compensation did the US reluctantly give the families of the victims of the Iranian Airbus? A pittance. How much to the survivors of US wars of aggression throughout the so called "3rd world/" How much have US courts awarded the families of the American Jews killed when illegally in illegal settlements in Occupied Palestine? Try the hundreds of millions. How many arms and how much money does the US give to Israel to terrorize, maim and kill Palestinians in their own homeland? How many families of Palestinians in the illegally occupied Palestinian Territories or now living in the US have been compenstated for the loss of family members killed by Israelis/zionists with American weapons of death and terror? Trial and courts are not necessarily about justice. Prosecutors are driven to "win" at all costs, and the defendants who are brought to court are more often than not, minorities, poor, and politically powerless. nels Thank you nels for sharing all this. I happen to have an article written by Pierre Salinger which was published in The Georgetowner which I hope to obtain permission to reprint which clearly documents that it was Iran which was responsible for the Pan Am 103 explosion over Lockerbie, Scotland. This was, according to Mr. Salinger and I completely concur, in retaliation for the deliberate downing of the Iranian air bus on 3 July 1987. Mr. Salinger goes into details that I didn't have but I have enough to convince people that it was Iran which perpetrated that tragedy which would have never occurred had the US not deliberately blown up the air bus. Mr. Salinger concludes his pagelong article by stating, "As I told you, that trial on The Hague will take at least a year to conclude. It is my belief that when the Scottish judges end that trial they will find the Libyans innocent." ©2000 Not to change the subject but this is reminisent of the civil trial against O. J. Simpson. He was innocent too but was sued by families of the victims and lost forcing him to pay even though he was not guilty of the crime. I can prove that by the way. Now, it appears that someone will have to pay for something that they were not responsible for too when it should be the US which should pay for that tragedy. Thank goodness True Democracy exists. It will take care of this with a demand that forces the real perpetrator pay. When the courts fail, that's when True Democracy takes over. In terms of how much money the US gives Israel it is my understanding from a report by the International Action Center in NYC, $!5 million per day goes to Israel. Bill Clinton had the audacity to request $425,000 more but I don't think that the Congress gave it to him. I certainly told my Congressman to vote down that request.
