Environmental Catastrophe Threatens Bethlehem Due to the Israeli Prevention
of Getting Rid of the Solid Waste to El-Ezaria Solid Waste Collection
Mr. Hanna Nasir, mayor of Bethlehem, said that the obstacles that the
Israeli Occupation Forces have set recently prevented the citizens from
freedom of movement specially those who have interests in other cities.
Mr. Nasir added that the municipality of Bethlehem suffers from inability to
perform its services to the citizens particularly concerning the solid waste
and the matter of getting it disposed of to El-Ezariah solid waste
collection, which put the area under the threat of an environmental
catastrophe.
In addition, Mr. Nasir confirmed that he communicated with other
municipalities in order to brief them on the Israeli violations against the
Governorate. On the other hand, Mr. Nasir mentioned that his last visit to
Rio de Janeiro at Brazil was a good chance to introduce more than 1200
participants from different parts of the world to the real situation that
the Palestinian people undergo.
Mr. Nasir called upon the Arab countries to establish a united news agency
that addresses the world and reflects the reality in order to serve the
Palestinian cause.

Palestinian Pregnant Lady Gives Birth at Israeli Military Checkpoint after
the Israeli Soldiers Prevented Her from Being Transferred to Jericho
Hospital
Palestinian citizen Gamala Hassan Ahreezat, 40 years old, from Algeftlek
village, gave birth yesterday inside a car at the Israeli military
checkpoint, which exists between Algeftlek and Alowaga villages, after the
Israeli soldiers had prevented her from being transferred to Jericho
Hospital.
The pregnant lady was prevented, though she was in a severe labor condition,
from passing through the checkpoint into Jericho Hospital.
The lady, who is lying in Jericho Hospital, mentioned that she was in labor
at 8: 00 a.m. Her husband and a number of the family members were taking her
to Jericho Governmental Hospital where the Israeli soldiers prevented them
from passing through the checkpoint regardless of the critical condition of
the lady.
As a result of the Israeli hindrance, the lady had to give birth to her
newborn inside the car, which was transporting her to Hospital.
