Gabonese President on friendship with DPRK
��� Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- I wish the brave Korean people happiness
and prosperity and I am very pleased to recall the time when I had an
audience with President Kim Il Sung, said Gabonese President El Hadj Omar
Bongo when he received credentials from the newly appointed DPRK ambassador
on June 1. The President said he is very pleased that leader Kim Jong Il is
wisely leading the valiant Korean people for the prosperity of the country
and the Gabonese people are greatly encouraged by this.
��� He expressed hope that the long-standing good relations of friendship
and cooperation between the two countries would further develop in the
future.

"Hot wind raised by Kim Jong Il in 2000"
��� Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A video cassette producer in Seoul made a
video tape "Hot Wind Raised by Kim Jong Il in 2000" on May 23 on the
occasion of the first anniversary of the publication of the historic June 15
joint declaration, according to Seoul-based Radio Voice of National
Salvation. Edited on the video tape in a diverse and peculiar manner are
scenes showing leader Kim Jong Il greeting President Kim Dae Jung at
Pyongyang airport on June 13 last year and other aspects of his personality
as a great man widely known to the world during the historic Pyongyang
meeting and South Korean public's lively response to it.
��� The video tape gained popularity right after its distribution, again
putting South Korea in the same wind as was raised last year, the radio
said.

Anecdotes about President Kim Il Sung (2)
��� Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- There is an anecdote about President Kim
Il Sung's mealtime. One day in Autumn Juche 71 (1982), the President left
his lodgings early in the morning to give on-site guidance to a certain unit
and came back at 2:50 p.m.
��� When a waiter was guiding him to a dining room, the president said that
he had no time as there were many people waiting for a meeting to start at
15:00. Asking only for one cup of water, he said, "the meeting time should
be observed, though my lunch is skipped."
��� And he soothed the impatient feeling of the waiter, saying he would take
his meal after the meeting.
��� Another anecdote tells about a half-underground house which he used as
his residence.
��� It was one day right after the Fatherland Liberation War (1950-1953). An
official told the president coming home at dawn that they would build at
once a residence for him who was living in a half-underground house. But,
the President advised him not to do so, saying he should share sweets and
bitters with the people as he did in the wartime. when the people live in
houses on the ground, we can live in such house, he added. after all, he
spent Juche 43 (1954) New Year's day in that cold and damp half-underground
house.
��� There is one more anecdote about a habit of babies.
��� In August of a year the president visited a nursery of a factory while
giving on-site guidance.
��� Babies began to cry perhaps as it was the time to give the breast to
them. Nurses were at a loss while carrying them in arms. At that moment, the
President told the nurses not to do so frequently, saying that babies would
cry when they feel pleasant and unpleasant or sleepy. it is a habit of
babies to cry, he added.

Just struggle of Libyan Arab people supported
��� Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- The Korean people warmly congratulate the
Libyan Arab people on the 31st anniversary of the dismantling of the U.S.
military base in their country and extend militant salutation to them, says
Rodong Sinmun today in a signed article. The Libyan Arab people forced the
united states to dismantle its military base in their country in 1970, thus
demonstrating their firm stand and will to safeguard the Great September
First Revolution and build a new independent society, the article notes, and
goes on:
��� Many countries are expressing support and sympathy with the Libyan Arab
people advancing under the uplifted banner of independence against
imperialism.
��� The Korean people have always extended full support to the Libyan Arab
people's just struggle.
��� The DPRK-Libyan friendly and cooperative relations have developed on
good terms as the days go by.
��� The Korean people sincerely wish the Libyan Arab people greater
successes in their future struggle to smash the interference, pressure and

Japanese gov. accused of refusing to allow DPRK's delegation entry into
Japan
��� Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- A spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry
today answered a question put by KCNA as regards the Japanese government's
recent refusal to permit the entry into Japan of a delegation of the DPRK
measure committee for demanding compensation to "comfort women for the army"
and the victims of the Pacific War. He said:
��� As already reported, the Japanese government refused to allow the entry
into Japan of the DPRK's delegation which left here to attend the emergency
meeting and rally for Asian solidarity, an international meeting to be held
in Tokyo in connection with Japan's moves to distort history in textbooks.
This was a provocation.
��� Its refusal was a very shameless and maladroit act perpetrated in
contravention of international morality and ethics.
��� What cannot be overlooked is that Japan has undisguisedly revealed its
hostility toward the DPRK before the international community by refusing the
entry of the delegation of the DPRK only, the no. 1 victim of the Japanese
imperialists' aggression.
��� The Japanese authorities frequently call for "improved relations" with
the DPRK, but, in actuality, do not bother to commit reckless and
provocative acts quite contrary to such call.
��� They should be mindful that the refusal only adds to the crimes already
committed by them against the Korean people and that this will add fuel to
their anti-Japanese sentiment and further isolate Japan from the world
community.

��� Pyongyang, June 11 (KCNA) -- President Kim Yong Nam of the presidium of
the Supreme People's Assembly of the DPRK on Sunday sent a message of
greetings to Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian
Federation, on the occasion of its National Day. The message extended warm
congratulations to the president, the government and the people of Russia on
this occasion.
��� It expressed the belief that the long-standing friendly and cooperative
relations between the two countries would comprehensively develop in
conformity with the requirements of the new century and in the spirit of the
DPRK-Russia joint declaration and the treaty of friendship, good
neighbourliness and cooperation.

of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, sent a message of greetings to
President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo today on the occasion of the 103rd
National Day of the Philippines. Extending warm congratulations to the
Filipino President and people, Kim in the message hoped that the friendly
and cooperative relations between the two countries would develop in various
fields in keeping with the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic ties.
��� He also wholeheartedly wished good health and happiness to the president
of the Philippines and progress and prosperity to its people.

la palabra en la 23 reunion de la comision de informacion de la onu
efectuada en nueva york senalo que el establecimiento del nuevo orden
informativo internacional es la tarea primordial que incumbe a la comunidad
internacional para hacer del siglo 21 uno pacifico y prospero. se debe
prestar debida atencion al establecimiento del nuevo y equitativo orden
informativo internacional conforme al desarrollo tecnico de la informacion y
de comunicacion, senalo el y continuo:
��� al respecto es necesario que los paises desarrollados, poseedores de los
modernos medios de informacion y comunicacion comprendan la importancia de
esta labor y a traves de su transferencia tecnologica y apoyo financiero
brinden activa ayuda a los paises en vias de desarrollo en los esfuerzos por
disponer su propia capacidad informativa.
��� la meta principal de la informacion de la onu es de dar a conocer
activamente entre los pueblos del mundo las actividades de la onu para
lograr que un apoyo amplio brinde a las organizaciones de la onu.

informacion de la onu se observe estrictamente el principio del respeto a la
soberania y de la no intervencion en los asuntos internos de cada pais
puesto que la onu se basa en el principio del respeto a la soberania y la
igualdad de todos sus paises miembros.
��� al mismo tiempo hay que garantizar la objetividad y la imparcialidad en
las actividades informativas de la onu.
��� es necesario que estas actividades contribuyan activamente a la solucion
del desarrollo economico y social de los paises en vias de desarrollo y se
tomen medidas para transferir a estos paises la moderna tecnologia de
informacion y comunicacion.
