IRSP ard comhairle representative Paul Little following friday nights gun attack in Ardoyne said; "Undoubtedly elements among unionism are hell bent on violent confrontation with the nationalist community in north Belfast. These attacks are aimed at drawing the republican community into a tit for tat sectarian campaign that will destabilize life for everyone in the six counties and needs to be rejected by all those who aspire to a peaceful future. "Once again the IRSP take this opportunity to ask political parties, communities to carefully look at the Charter for non aggression as we believe this offers a real chance to lessen if not eradicate the scourge of sectarian attacks from where ever they emanate." In conclusion the IRSP representative said; "The IRSP pay tribute to those in the nationalist working class who are working night and day to insure that our community is not left undefended from these acts of aggression by loyalists and the RUC , their courage in facing down what are murderous attacks as always illustrate the courage and determination of our community. 1969 is forever etched in the collective memory of our community and we stand shoulder to shoulder to insure that sectarian domination of nationalists by pro British elements is consigned to the dustbin of history where it belongs."
