DPRK TRADE FEDERATION DELEGATION VISITS LAOS

VIENTIANE, JULY 30(KPL) Sisavath Koebounphanh President of the Lao Front for
National Construction on July 27 received a courtesy visited from a Korean
Federation of Trade Unions delegation led by Mr Ri Jin Su, Deputy President
of the federation.

Mr Sisavath congratulated the visit of the delegation and also wished the
delegation an auspicious time in Laos. Mr Ri Jin Su thanked Mr Sisavath for
his warm welcome. The delegation arrived at Wattay International Airport on
July 26 and was welcomed by Mr Bosaykham Vongdala, Deputy President of the
Lao Federation of Trade Unions and concerned officials.

In the afternoon of the July 26 the delegation paid a courtesy visit to
President of the Lao Federation of Trade Unions, Mr Venethong Luangvilay. Mr
Venethong congratulated the delegation for their visit, which further
heightened the traditional relations of friendly cooperative solidarity
between the two organisations, Laos and the Democratic People's Republic of
Korea. The two organisations exchanged lessons and visited prominent places
in Laos before the Korean's left for home on July 29.

PARLIAMENTARIANS' DELEGATION VISITS LAOS

VIENTIANE, July 30 (KPL) A delegation of the Vietnam-Laos Parliamentarians'
Friendship Group, led by its head Nguyen Van Son, left here yesterday,
ending a four day working visit to Laos.

Son is also a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and
Director of its Commission for External Relations.

The Vietnamese delegation was received in Vientiane by Samane Viyaket,
Politburo member of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and Chairman
of Lao National Assembly.

Chairman Samane spoke highly of the groups's visit, saying that both
countries' parliamentarians should enhance exchanges of information and
educate their young generations about the friendship, solidarity and
comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos. This friendships was
originally forged by the late President Ho Chi Minh of Vietnam and President
Kaysone Phomvihane of Laos.

During their stay, the Vietnam-Laos Parliamentarians' Friendship Group held
talks with their counterparts led by Pani Yathotou, member of the LPRP
Central Committee and permanent member of the Laos National Assembly
Standing Committee.

They informed each other of their respective countries' situation and the
two legislatures' activities. They focussed discussion on measures to
further accelerate cooperation between the two legislative bodies,
particularly the two parliamentarians' groups with the aim of developing the
special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

The Vietnamese delegation also held working sessions with Chairman of the
National Assembly's Commission for Foreign Affairs Saysomphone Phomviharn,
and with leading officials from Vientiane and Luang Prabang.

LAOS AND MONGOLIA TO FURTHER MULTI-FACETED COOPERATION

VIENTIANE, JULY 30 (KPL). The Lao and Mongolian Ministries of Foreign
Affairs reaffirmed their commitments to enhance multi-faceted co-operation
between the two countries at talks held yesterday in Vientiane.

Heading the Lao delegation to the talks was Deputy Prime Minister and
Foreign Minister Somsavat Lengsavad. The Mongolian delegation was led by
Mongolian Foreign Minister Luvsanglin Erdenechuluun. The two sides highly
appraised the last period of co-operation, saying that more comprehensive
co-operation will be fostered.

The Mongolian delegation of Foreign Affairs is scheduled to leave for home
tomorrow.

LAO MILITARY DELEGATION WRAPS UP VIET NAM VISIT
�� Ha Noi, July 30 (VNA) -- A high-level military delegation of the Lao
People's Army (LPA) left Ha Noi today, July 30, concluding a six-day visit
to Viet Nam. 
�� While here, the delegation, led by Major General K. Senglathone, member
of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party Central Committee and Chief of the
General Staff of the LPA, was received by Prime Minister Phan Van Khai, and
had working sessions with a high-level military delegation of the Viet Nam
People's Army. 
�� They also visited several military schools, the Tien Phong Division, the
Military Factory 153, and the Military Command of northern Quang Ninh
