From: Juche 86 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> NOVOSTI - Russian Information Agency KIM JONG IL TO MAKE A STOPOVER IN KHABAROVSK KHABAROVSK, August 16, 2001. /From RIA Novosti correspondent Yevgeny Bugayenko/--North Korean leader Kim Jong Il, who is on a journey back home along Russia's Trans-Siberian railway, will make a lengthy stopover in Khabarovsk on Friday. Kim's armoured train is expected to arrive at 11:40 local time. The schedule of the North Korean leader's stay in Khabarovsk was agreed beforehand and envisages a trip to a new baby mix production factory, the only one in Siberia and the Russian Far East and visits to a local Museum of Regional Studies, Museum of Military Glory of the Far Eastern Military District, and a territorial House of War and Labor Veterans. Kim Jong Il will lay wreaths to the Eternal Flame by the war memorial in Khabarovsk's Ploshchad Slavy (Square of Glory). The marble pylons of the memorial bear almost 48,000 names of Khabarovsk territory natives who perished while defending their Motherland and liberating Korea from Japanese colonial domination. Later on, Kim and his entourage will take a trip down the Amur on a motorship. The stopover in Khabarovsk wasn't on the initial schedule but was added to it when Kim received an invitation from President Putin's plenipotentiary to the Far Eastern Federal District Konstantin Pulikovsky, who accompanies the North Korean leader on his lengthy railway journey across Russia. _________________________________________________ KOMINFORM P.O.
