But the proclaimed war is not restricted to one country, or to one person, or a matter of weeks. In his statement on September 16, US President Bush said: "We will show the world that we are the strongest nation in the world." This is a challenge. Who is he challenging? In the same statement, Bush answers this question: "Not just those who are harming the USA at the moment, but also those who could harm the USA in future and who grant help and accommodation to them... "PEOPLES OF THE WORLD! THE USA HAS DECLARED WAR ON US AGAIN The USA says: "We have declared war on terror." In the dictionary in vogue in the USA, "terror" and "support of terror" mean opposing the American empire, not accepting the American world order. Among those who "are harming America today and could do so in future" are billions of the poor who suffer from hunger and are without bread, water or justice. This involves all the oppressed, exploited and unjustly treated people of the world. This fact makes clear just whom they are declaring war against. We are confronted with a war the USA is conducting against all oppressed peoples. THE WORLD WILL DISCUSS THE FACTS AND CANNOT BE PREVENTED FROM DOING SO!Whatever the world today thinks about the September 11 action, with the exception of the USA and pro-Americans cannot avoid discussion. This discussion will become more profound. This is precisely what the USA and pro-Americans most fear. With shouting about terror and attacks, they hope to prevent such discussion. This discussion is above all about bread and justice. The problem of the peoples of the peoples of the world today is the lack of bread and justice. There is rebellion everywhere where there is no bread or justice. THERE ARE NO JUSTIFIED, LEGAL OR LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THIS WAR We must know who is conducting this war, and why. Will this war end with an American empire? No! Such a war will bring greater suffering and misery to the peoples, and raise anger and indignation to higher levels. THE PEOPLES CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT BREAD AND JUSTICE! Cast a glance at the terrifying dimensions of these bare facts: today one billion, one hundred million people in the world live at the threshold of hunger, of whom 800 million live in Asia. One billion three hundred million people in the so-called developing countries do not have access to clean water. In such countries, three million children die every year as a result of drinking polluted water. In this world, 26,000 people die DAILY as a result of hunger or malnutrition. The daily toll of DEATHS FROM HUNGER is thus several times higher than those from the event that America is using to set the whole world in an uproar! And amid all these events, the income of the three Americans who are the richest in the world is the same as the gross national income of 48 countries. In short, billions of people do not have a scrap of bread or a glass of water! And in such a world our call is: Bread for all human beings! Drinking water for all, and justice! The demand of the peoples of the world is so simple, so serious and so clear. In such a world, the reasons for the September 11 action are not to be wondered at, it is merely surprising that such things do not happen more often. It could not be otherwise for such things to happen in a world in which people are subjected to hunger and injustice. There are six billion of us. We are the hungry and impoverished. We are those who have no bread to eat or water to drink. We cannot dispense with demanding bread and justice. That is the reality. OUR CALL IS: NO TO WAR! BREAD AND JUSTICE FOR ALL! WHILE THE PEOPLES SUFFER HUNGER, THEY SPEND MONEY FOR TYRANNY!Poverty is accompanied by oppression. All the developing countries are ruled by the IMF and World Bank. And while these countries, on the orders of the USA and the IMF, make all their wealth accessible to imperialist monopolies, the greater part of the budget goes on weaponry, the army and police, while what is spent on education, health, creating a livelihood and feeding the people is paltry. Because to prevent outbreaks, rebellions and the struggle for rights and freedoms by the hungry masses driven to unemployment and poverty, it is necessary to constantly expand the INSTRUMENTS OF OPPRESSION. TO THE PEOPLE OF TURKEY! WE HAVE BEEN EXPERIENCING THIS WAR IN ANY CASE We have been going through this war anyway, since the point at which the government, on the orders of the USA and the IMF, decided to increase the number of our hungry and unemployed. They leave us to hunger, without work and as soon as we take a position against hunger and unemployment and say "No the IMF", we are subjected to tyranny. Those who are opposed to the system are detained as "terrorists" or "supporters of terror" and put in the F-Type cells. And the government in Turkey is beside itself with joy because Bush is coming out with the same rhetoric. They are delighted to be able to exploit more, to plunder more, to oppress more, to beat more people with clubs in the city squares and throw even more people into the F-Type prisons. TO THE PEOPLE OF TURKEY! WE WILL NOT ALLOW OUR COUNTRY TO BE USED AS A US BASE AGAINST OPPRESSED PEOPLES! Every corner of our land is filled with US bases. The government is completely pro-American and pro-IMF. It is quite unabashedly joyful about the USA's declaration of war on the peoples of the world, and for a long time it has granted help and accomodation to the attacks of the USA - the world's greatest terrorist. The USA now declares Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Sudan, Yemen and numerous other countries to be targets, for opposing a pro-American world order. America will attack these peoples and use our soil for it. We cannot allow our country to be turned into a base for attacks on fraternal peoples. This is not compatible with Islam, Turkish or Kurdish nationalism. Because whichever country they are in, whatever nationality or religion, all oppressed peoples of the world are our brothers and sisters. US imperialism possesses no religion, no belief system, no culture and no morality. Its religion, belief system and morality is the dollar. It has levelled everything to the ground for the sake of the dollar and this will also be its only war aim in the future. FOR BREAD AND JUSTICE: Debts to the IMF and World Bank must be cancelled! The economic, political and military policies of the USA in all developing lands must be halted! All lands which have come to harm from the IMF and World Bank must be compensated! NATO must be dissolved! The occupation and bombardment of countries and the dividing-up of peoples must be ended! All treaties between the USA and Israel must be declared null and void! All constitutions and anti-democratic laws which expedite IMF policies must be annulled, there must be freedom of speech and freedom of association! Those who have been detained for harbouring opposition thoughts must be released! PEOPLES OF THE WORLD, PEOPLE OF TURKEY! Opposing this war means opposing hunger on earth. Opposing this war means opposing the injustice to which they want to condemn the whole world. Opposing this war means opposing American imperialism. We must unite against and resist the American empire and the war it has declared on the peoples of the world. The world belongs to the peoples, not to America.
