From: "Walter Lippmann" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Subject: [CubaNews] Bush-Bin Laden business dealings? September 28, 2001 Business between Bush and the Bin Laden family? U.S. President George W. Bush had business dealings with one of the brothers of Osama bin Laden, accused of organizing the September 11 attacks on New York and Washington, according to the September 24 edition of The Daily Mail. In 1978, Salem bin Laden and George W. Bush established the Arbust Energy Oil Company in Texas, according to the British daily. Salem bin Laden, the oldest of 57 siblings, invested a large part of his inheritance from his father - a Saudi construction magnate - in several companies, among them Arbust. He died in Texas in 1983, when his private plane crashed. In 1978 Salem bin Laden hired James Bath, a close friend of George W. Bush, as his representative in Houston, Texas. Later on, Bush invested $50,000 in Arbust, according to the daily. That same year, Bath bought the Houston Gulf Airport on behalf of Salem bin Laden. Bin Laden's relatives, who maintain close ties with the Saudi royal family, broke with Osama several years ago. "We don't have any relations with him," a member of the family living in London declared to AFP the day after the attacks. (AFP) _________________________________________________ KOMINFORM P.O.
