Subject: [CubaNews] Bush's disappearance on 9-11 unjustified

GRANMA
September 28, 2001
No threats existed to justify Bush' disappearance on the day
of the attacks

WASHINGTON.- It is possible that the telephone threat that
allegedly forced U.S. President George W. Bush to escape
aboard a presidential Air Force One plane was never made.

The White House justified the president's disappearance on the
morning of the Twin Towers and Pentagon attacks by stating
that it had received a "credible threat".

Supposedly, someone called the presidential residence on
September 11 to warn Bush that he was being watched by
terrorists that day.

Vice President Dick Chaney advised Bush not to return to the
White House the same day.

Now, White House sources admit that there is no evidence that
such a call was made.

A television network is affirming that the telephone call
never really happened.

A White House official admitted that the error could have
arisen from certain secret service agents who misinterpreted
some presidential residence employees.

Bush's sudden disappearance from Washington generated strong
criticism in various U.S. press media. (ANSA)
