Vietnam strongly opposes terrorist acts: FM spokesperson

"Vietnam strongly opposes terrorist acts and supports efforts to make
humankind free from terrorism," said the spokesperson for the Foreign
Ministry in Hanoi on October 11.

The spokesperson was answering a question raised by Vietnam News Agency
correspondent on the country's position toward terrorist acts against
Vietnam as other countries are taking co-operative measures against
terrorism.

Vietnam holds that anti-terrorist measures should be conducted in conformity
with the United Nations Charter and international law, the spokesperson
said.

In this spirit, Vietnam believes that all countries should have a unanimous
attitude toward terrorism by not supporting, harbouring and concealing
terrorists or those with terrorist schemes against Vietnam. They should
co-operate with Vietnam in preventing and severely punishing those who
mastermind or carry out terrorist schemes against the State and people of
Vietnam inside the country and at Vietnamese representative offices abroad,
the spokesperson said. (VNA)
