From India News Network (INN) CITU leads Beedi workers March to Parliament by Beedi Workers New Delhi, November 26: Beedi workers are undergoing extreme suffering and to express their resentment and to get the attention of Nation and Parliament for this suffering over thousands beedi workers are expected to rally in Delhi under the leadership of the Trade Union Movement. The major trade unions of India – AITUC, AICCTU, CITU, HMS, INTUC, IFTU, TUCC, UTUC and UTUC-LS have jointly helped organised a march to Parliament by Beedi workers coming from all the beedi producing states on 27th November 2001. The procession will start from the Ramlila grounds at 11am and will culminate in front of the Parliament Street police Station where leaders of the Different Trade Unions and MPs will address the meeting. eom |
