CPI Condemns Attack on Chilean Communists
The Communist Party of India denounces the attack on the headquarter of
the Communist Party of Chile by the national police using tear gas and
water cannons. This resulted in the arrest of cores of people and
injured several. Party General Secretary Gladys Marin was also among the
arrested.
This attack was indeed aimed at intimidating the Communist Party of
Chile, which is expected to make gains in the forthcoming Parliamentary
elections since the end of Pinochet dictatorship.
The Communist Party of India demands immediate release of all arrested
including Gladys Marine and expresses its solidarity with the people and
Communist Party of Chile and wishes them all success in their struggle
for restoring democracy and democratic institution in Chile.
