The cadre of CPG, Z Karakitsos released from prison
The cadre of CPG, Zaharias Karakitsos was released from prison,
yesterday January 15. His release took place in the frame of the demand
posed by a lot of mass organizations and personalities of the
Prefecture of Pieria, where Litohoro is located, and following the
decision taken unanimously by the Municipality Council of Litohoro to
redeem his penalty.
The Mayor of Litohoro commended on his release saying that �we decided
unanimously to redeem the penalty of Zaharias, because we believe that
the ideas must not be penalized, and because we believe that his
struggle was a just one�.
Zaharias Karakitsos had been convicted by the court of appeal, and
sentenced to 8 months of imprisonment for participating in anti-NATO
activities.
