I am using a Quickam Sphere webcam (alias Quickcam Orbit outside France), and
the latest pwc driver compiled from source (modinfo pwc -> 10.0.11-unofficial).
Here is how to reproduce the issue:
- Go to the configuration panel, device configuration -> kopete opens the
device and show the picture
- Close it
- Open a chat window with a contact
- Send the webcam to the contact -> the cam window is opened on both sides
- Open the configuration panel again
-> it tries to go back to device configuration and to open the device without
checking that it is already the case.
The resulting state is that both picture windows (configuration panel and chat)
become blue, but the device remains locked and nothing can be done in kopete to
access it again. Kopete must be stopped and restarted to resume normal
operation.
In other words, once in the control panel, one must think about switching to
another tab before closing the window.
