The fact that Microsoft has threatened Apple on the software front in the past. It is on record in a couple of places.


Do I think that Microsoft went out of their way to hurt OS X by dropping Internet Explorer? No. I can make the case on a purely rational business case basis.

However, the fact that OS X would not have a browser which would be compliant with Explorer-only websites was not lost on Microsoft, either.
