Actually there is some laptop companies that have 2gb support. They all seem to 
use the same  VIA K8T800 / VIA VT8235CE Chipset. So it's beyond me why they all 
are not supporting 2gb. My best guess is that there is several iterations of 
the VIA chipset.

I am also suprised that the industry as a whole has not gone beyond the 2gb max 
memory for laptops. There is a lot of power users who use their laptops for 
testing or demoing various products. I often hear people wish that their laptop 
had more than a 2gb memory capacity.
