The topic is pretty broad for KPLUG anyway.  Yeah, there's "Linux" in
the name, but some of us don't even use Linux.  KPLUG is definitely a
social thing.  And perhaps that's good.  If people stick around to
gossip when the Linuxy questions are scarce, then they'll be around
when a Linuxy question comes along, making the pool of possible
answerers that much greater.  You wouldn't expect everyone at an
Installfest to stick to Linux talk, of course!  Besides, I like the
frequency and nature of the off-topic discussions that occur.  I was
signed up for Kooler several years ago and it was way too high volume
for me, about stuff I mostly didn't care about.  Participating wasn't
much worth the effort because I was either talking to the ether or
arguing with one person.  Nobody had time to get in on every
discussion.  Here on kplug-list, there's a decent-sized group of
people who all chip something in when topic heats up.  It suits *me*,
anyway.
