I doubt that is the *entire* reason, but it most certainly is *one*. *THE ADVERTISINBG CLAUSE IS INCOMPATIBLE WITH THE GPL* Of course the FSF is going to fix this problem. They have successfully gotten people to change from the 4 clause BSD license to the 3 clause BSD license (the latter being GPL compatible).
