I'm not sure where the problem is either. That's why I'm asking. Duh!
[W]hat app/utility is "reporting" that they are jpegs?
I specifically mentioned The GIMP. I didn't mention any other apps
because I didn't think it was relevant at this point. But since you asked:
*The GIMP*
Image Viewer
KView
Kuickshow
gThumb Image Viewer
[BTW, the patronizing quoting of reporting wasn't really necessary.]
[W]hat does the command "file" report?
[EMAIL PROTECTED] miscellaneous]$ file 100_0011.jpg
100_0011.jpg: JPEG image data, EXIF standard
The GIMP "reports":
---
JPEG image Message
Corrupt JPEG data: 831 extraneous bytes before marker 0xd8
EXIF data will be ignored.
Invalid JPEG file structure: two SOI markers
EXIF data will be ignored.
GIMP Message
Opening '/sevenhome/dallen/mygraphics/miscellaneous/100_0011.jpg' failed:
Plug-In could not open image

[H]ave you tried imagemagick's command "display"?
Best,
Mike
No. Apparently, Imagemagick is included in Fedora Core as a library. I
assume other apps use it as such.
