Looks like there are problems with the iPod itself. Why are you trying to
read device sdb (the second SCSI device) instead of the iPod (sda, the
first emulated SCSI device)?
Oops, I put /dev/sdb because that's what dmesg was calling it before I
rebooted the pc. I didn't notice that dmesg is now referring to it as
sda. But even if I had put /dev/sda here, I think the result would have
been the same, or similar. (I don't presently have access to the
computer to test it.) At least that's what it was doing with /dev/sdb
before the reboot.
If there are problems with the ipod itself, what can be done about it?
And how can I be certain that the problems are in the ipod and not the
pc or yet something else?
I don't have access to the system at present. (I really *should* set up
a virtual private network.)
