As I agree with others there is no points for second place here, the final
note was the important one, but one of these printers predates windows, is
*listed* as supported, but is only partially supported, and that gets on my
nerves, the canon printers however I knew when I bought them they would not
be supported, I dont have to like it. the HP gets on my nerves as it should
work, but its not even listed as supported, not that I didnt do my homework
prior to purchasing it, I know that I wont be getting rid of windows any
time soon, I would like to reduce the amount I have to rely on it

I do .... but at least I cant run these natively in linux, and I have to do
it legally so buying windows so I can use part well no thanks.

I disagree, while I like to use more complex tools my mother doesnt, and in
windows she can at least do basic editing using a very wizzard oriented
tool, which does everything she needs, if we are going to put linux against
windows it has to work for her also.

I'da thought that too, but in reality its sooo not true, the packages that
exist for windows work, I have not seen the same for linux.

Tossed this in cause email is an important part of what linux on a desktop
is, and I changed the subject a little because I went on my own rant :D

interesting thanks, have not seen that one.

ill try it later today and see how I like it, but from the freshmeat
description, id guess its just close.

this is how the desktop world works, and because of that its why I can.
though its gotten M$ in trouble it is what they have been trying to do, and
they have been trying to do it for years because thats the way the marketing
people say it needs to be done. think IE built into windows.

OK but you pulled that out of the WRONG place

that was in there with the flightsim part for a reason, its a whole other
world to have 2 monitors when your doing things like programming or gimp
than when your playing, it takes more than just 2 monitors that work. and
linux just isnt there yet.

are you sure??? its sure costing ME a fortune, even more so that IF M$
releases the next M$SQL/visual studio on time (yea right) then ive got
another $1000 to spend.
