I've googled for this issue, but everything seems to be about extended character sets, not about 'mapping' them to smaller sets.
http://www.unm.edu/~lkravitz/Article%20folder/sarcopenia.html Copy/pastes from web pages like the above into xemacs (or xterm) result in 'atypical' single and double quotes, which I need to global find/replace with 'normal' quotes.
