There's a reason why the default domain association (
if you want to call it that ) for most domains is the
US of A. It was invented here. Same reason the RAF is
THE Royal Air Force and all other are R<string>AF.

As to turning anything to do with it over to the UN...
Over my dead body. It would be as big a farce as
having the likes of Cuba, Syria, and China overseeing
Human Rights.
