Yes. It runs perfectly. It turns off as expected. It refuses to turn on.

I know which attachment works ... _when_ it works. I haven't figured out

I may take you up on that, perhaps at an installfest. Also, thanks for
the informed discourse. I had a hunch it was rigged up something like
that.

I don't remember the provenance of this box. It may have been a KPLUG
raffle prize, and those are always suspect (no offense, but they're
donated for a reason ;)

But when it _does_ turn on, it's a champ! I will have many happy hours
of "Xena Warrior Princess" (or "Duck Dodgers") on this box. 8-)
