No, but only because I haven't looked into it. While I support several
severely disabled users on Linux, none of them have immediate need for
speech recognition[1].
OCR is important because several of these users don't have the manual
dexterity to write legibly, if at all. OCR is great for helping them
fill in forms - which is something anyone on SSI and Medi-Cal does
plenty of.
[1] Text-to-speech on the other hand, is a much higher priority in the
disabled community. Linux is rapidly catching up here, although not
really fast enough. The Sun-sponsored Gnopernicus project is a big step
in the right direction.
