Does your list include speech recognition?

No, but only because I haven't looked into it. While I support several severely disabled users on Linux, none of them have immediate need for speech recognition[1].

OCR is important because several of these users don't have the manual dexterity to write legibly, if at all. OCR is great for helping them fill in forms - which is something anyone on SSI and Medi-Cal does plenty of.

[1] Text-to-speech on the other hand, is a much higher priority in the disabled community. Linux is rapidly catching up here, although not really fast enough. The Sun-sponsored Gnopernicus project is a big step in the right direction.
