This would be a KDE thing perhaps? I've been Gnome by default. I could

Hi Lan,

k3b is a KDE thingie, but as DJA says it's desktop-agnostic.
I use it quite a bit, it's not half-bad as far as a gui-based
proggie goes.

Slashdot had a pointer to an interesting thread on osdl about
Gnome.  Seems that Gnome's developers would rather leave out
fine-grained control of things, like printers, in favor of
not "confusing" the users.  This one resonated with me since
I've been using SuSE with KDE for years.  SuSE recently
announced that they would default to Gnome in the future,
but had to retract the statement after a firestorm of
complaints.
