I didn't think there was any such thing. But somebody is selling them on eBay for $3.99 + $10 shipping. PCMCIA to 44-pin notebook hard drive. What do you have to lose, besides $14?
I cant vouch for these but I have one and it works fine! except.
IDE is very cable-length limited and is not hot-pluggable.. Why not get a USB2 enclosure for your 2.5" hard drive, and if necessary get a PCMCIA or Cardbus USB adapter.
the length limit on the 44 pin cables is even more limited than the 40 pin cables, better to get a sata/usb cardbus adapter less length issues, better support, and external cases can be had with both so you can use the drive without the card or with and with you get SPEED!!! and works in linux nicely :D
