I think information does want to be free. But not for the reasons people usually give. Private information is like water sitting in a container on the top of a hill. It really "wants" to go down the hill to the lowest point it can find and will do so at the earliest opportunity. Similarly, information wants to be known by everyone and if you give it an opportunity it will slip out and nothing can bring it back.
