Except that this particular keyboard requires a clear surface on which to project. Reviews have said that it malfunctions if there are objects (like a pencil or power cord) sitting on the surface between the unit and the projection. Somehow I have doubts of this thing working on an airlines' small tray tables (never mind that it looks like it will easily tip over). Couple that with the price and the zero tactile feedback, and it is starting to get hard to see why anyone would want one, other than the cool factor.

I think the best bet in a portable keyboard is pda-style folding keyboard (preferably one that has a single hinge, so it is easier to use). Takes up slightly more space, but it is vastly more usable.

I agree. I think these fall into the catagory of a solution looking for a problem.
