I'm having an issue with some Cisco 2970s and Panduit horizontal wire
managers. The way the 19" rackmount brackets attach to the 2970s, the
face of the switch stands off from the rack about 3/4" But the wire
managers mount flush. So, cables coming out of the wire managers want
to pop out of the manager, or they're cocked over at an extreme angle,
kinking the cable. Since I have to assume I'm not the only one in the
world who's ever rack-mounted a Cisco switch... WTF? Is there some
different bracket for the switches I could/should get? Is there some
kind of standoff to put between the managers and the rack (BlackBox says
no)?
Turn the switch around, and mount it on the front vertical rails. Your
ports will still be rear facing, but there will be plenty of room in the
front of the switch to the back of the cabinet.
