I've heard of several bad experiences with ProCurves, too. I'm all about buying Ciscos on the secondary market. Yeah, you pay for the name, but you get a bulletproof piece of hardware that you can always get support and documentation on. Heck, you can always find a "Cisco guy" to help you out. But if you have the Joes Crab Shack and Routers model XYZ manageable switch, and have a question, but don't have a current support contract, you're SOL. FWIW, the 2970s we bought several months ago ran about $2600 each. No fiber or any other cute features. I'm glad I didn't have to pay that invoice :-) -- *********************************************************************** * John Oliver http://www.john-oliver.net/ * * * *********************************************************************** -- [email protected] http://www.kernel-panic.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/kplug-list
