Yes. When I started using vim it wasn't extensible. It barely had a
vimrc. It has come a long way since then. I have looked at vim's
extension language and it is interesting but it's no lisp. :) Emacs was
written in lisp to be extensible with lisp. Nearly everything is exposed
in lisp. Emacs extensibility is legendary. You don't see any mail or
news readers for vim do you? :)
