Thunderbird's default setup isn't any better, to my mind.
At least in Thunderbird when you type a enter key in the middle of the
quoted text, it breaks out of the quoted mode. In outlook it seems to
just add to the quoted text. This makes it seemingly impossible to do
it the "right" way.
