Josh, as ever, the voice of reason.
Just remember, if they give it to you under GPL, you have every right
to legally use it under the GPL (and the myriad other OSS licenses
used in a distribution's contents these days).
Now, if they suddently stop using GPL and go to the MSSSSL (Microsoft
Soul Sucking Software License), you're free to take the last GPL
release and fork it into another GPL project. Nothing anyone can
legally do to stop you.
But Josh is right; I wouldn't consider paying for anything from
Novell at this point anymore, but I'm not going to quake in my boots
because Novell is in cahoots with MS. The GPL (and other licenses)
do actually mean something, after all.
