Various failed or failing peripheral cards (e.g. - video cards), failed or failing fans, HDD problems. I've known several people that have had to have their laptops serviced and I had a few that had the CPU fan fail. I've had better luck with generic systems assembled either by myself or by local shops (Chips and Memory and Micro Tron to name two).
