My plan is to have both the front and back end on the same box and do no streaming of video over the net. The net connection is strictly for (1) zap2it, and (2) ssh from the outside world in case I notice that a "Greg the Bunny" retrospective needs to be recorded, and I'm at work. With that clarification, do I still need more throughput? > >> The seemingly pertinent line from lspci is (retyped) >> >> 00:06.0 Network controller: Intersil Corporation Prism 2.5 Wavelan >> chipset >> (rev 01) > > OK, that matches the make and model for the card, which is a good thing. > Apparently later versions of the card lie. I believe the "_pci" was already on it, but I'll reconfirm. > > Now on to other stuff. > -snip of the other stuff- I have a lot to try.
