No. If the people will not defend this one, the chance of something better appearing is quite remote--especially in the aftermath of violence.

If you really want a change, agitate for California to lawfully secede from the US. We have the mechanisms and levers at the California level to do so via proposition. Pulling the sixth largest world economy out of the United States would bring most of the US stupidity to a halt *real fast*.

In fact, even without Iraq, given how out of step California is with the rest of the country on many political ideas, it might still be a good move.
