Mee, too, but this board seems to go for sATA ops only, meant for disks=sATA 
nad ATA for cd/dvd only.

Nothing. I looked there of course. I looked three times everywhere in that 
BIOS, I even forced UDMA5 in the main tab, no good. I'll try a later kernel 
as soon as the array is resynced (forgot to disable it for testing :( )

I know. (Built about a hundred PCs so far, consumer hardware is my game 
usually. That's why this bugger riddles me so much.)

Hmm, could do for testing tho my RAID disks are sitting there. Well, for 
testing. When the array etc etc.

SMART is enabled, would surprise me if that did any harm, but I'll check on 
that, too.
