Good link, Chris.
I am thinking these guys might also be a good way to get
an old XP box just to run the occasional piece of Windows
only software I need from time to time.

why not VMware? It's free and if you already have a copy of XP, you're set. I
use it to access iTunes store on my laptop.
Only the VMware player is free. If you want to create a virtual machine
you need a licensed version. Or have a friend like me create it for you.
A truly free (GPL) alternative to VMware is VirtualBox
<http://www.virtualbox.org>, which does pretty much everything that
VMware can do. They make money by providing a few non-free extras like
USB virtualization.
