I don't
personally understand why people run numerous servers at their house
at all, really.
Me either.
LOL!
Stewart, didn't I acquire for you a couple Netras, an E420R, and an
E3500? :)
I know why I used to run a server at home. Basically, I wanted to play
around with things I couldn't at work, and wanted to know how they
worked. So, a server at home seemed like a good idea.
Now, I'm in situations where I don't need that crap at home, so I don't
run it anymore. I've now got a dual-purpose desktop that does everything
I need.
If I could ony get it to be quiet, I'd be set. I very much want my local
display to be of a remote machine, and quiet. Looks like I'll be going
back to a server that can make noise in the garage ... *sigh*
