I've never had a problem with an Intel network adapter. The TCP offload engine in the newer boards is also rather nice; for high-traffic machines it keeps the CPU utilization down real low.
I've got a dual-port MT board in this machine right now, and it works without a hitch. The only problem is that it's a PCI-X/133 board and I have it in a 32/33 slot :(
All in all, an awesome controller. Given a choice, I wouldn't use anything else.
