Indeed. I am properly chastised. It didn't look right, but I was too
tired -- or more likely lazy -- to go back and look at it to see what
it was that didn't look right.

Although, you were unnecessarily gentle in your chastisement.

Yes. Exposure to poor grammar degrades my grammar, and that annoys me.
"You understand what I meant, so where's the harm?" has an appropriate
response: "It diminishes *my* abilities, and makes *me* look like an
idiot, so it harms ME."
