SCSI HD prices didn't used to be *that* much higher than IDE HD prices.
IIRC, there was a time when it was about $10-$20 different, but I've
long since thrown out all those old catalogs.

Controllers for IBM-PCs were high, but that's just market forces; almost
every other personal computer came with built-in SCSI, didn't it?
